Finding the humor in life that usually goes unseen by most people, is a challenge, but worthwhile in our strange times --- so I enjoy writing about thoughts from everyday things that happen to me. Like last night when Elvis gave me a dirty look........
I was in the booth facing the door as he came into the restaurant. Our eyes locked --- a few seconds too long. Unbelievable. "Elvis just walked in," I stage-whispered to my husband.
The guy turned and looked directly at me again. For a long time. Did he think I was flirting with him? A sneer curled his upper lip. Very Elvis attitude, I thought. Oh, gawd, had he heard me? I quickly engrossed myself in my stir-fry dinner, with hot green tea, as the tall dark-haired, long side-burned figure picked up his Chinese take-out and left the building.
Wasn't the the whole idea of looking like someone famous --- to get people to look at you? I refuse to feel bad about my bold eye-balling of a famous face! Elvis is living in my town. Who knew? And an Elvis sighting is not a bad way to end a great Indian Summer weekend in the south.
Life is always good.
