Hey, I'm sick! The first bad bug of the season has kicked my butt this past week. It started with a terrible sore throat, then congestion and coughing for a few days. No sleep. Yesterday the mild headache --- even my teeth hurt --- got really painful. Today I look like a zombie from a B movie! Puffy eyes, backache, coughing up stuff and everything else to make one's life completely miserable. Gee, I'm glad I got my annual flu shot!

My sweet hubby picked me up a Z-Pack, so hopefully I'll start feeling better soon. Life is no fun when a bug takes over one's body. I just finished watching Alien Resurrection and I can relate!!!

When I first read this quote, it made me laugh, and then I started thinking about it.

Life IS strange --- forget the school part.

Even though I attended school, I think I've learned more by just living.

Maybe that's why it's said that the "old" have wisdom.

Tonight's full moon is The Beaver Moon, meaning a time of preparation for winter and a reminder to recreate ourselves.

The Native Americans found November was the time to set beaver traps before the swamps froze, to ensure a supply of warm winter furs. Another interpretation suggests that the name Full Beaver Moon comes from the fact that the beavers are now actively preparing for winter --- something we all should be doing. Sometimes it was referred to as the Frosty Moon by early people.

Running into the ladies room after seeing the movie, I smiled at a little girl standing by the sinks. Her eyes got really big and she backed up like she was afraid of me.

Looking in the mirror, I knew why --- I even scared myself --- I had bright blue lips, teeth, and tongue!!!

Before I left the house, I tucked a blueberry candy cane into my purse and I ate it during Beowulf. I looked like some kinda vampire smurf!!! It was so heavy on the blue dye, my tongue was still blue at bedtime.

So if you buy the Sweet-Tart candy canes, just make sure you eat them in the privacy of your own home and don't answer the door for 24 hours.
