1.  Finally, a thief who robs gas stations in our area has been caught. The "Boxer Bandit" would wear his checkered underwear on his head with his nose sticking out of the "business" opening! How would you like to run into that when you're out filling up your car at night???

2.  Besides dangerous driving and other oddball activities while using sleeping pills, people apparently are having sex while sleeping! That explains the increase in alien babies in recent years!

3.  The Mayans held a purification ceremony to drive out the "bad spirits" after President Bush visited the ruins at Iximche, Guatemala.

4.  Eat 'em up! Americans are still not eating two fruits and three veggies a day. The next survey promises to find out what we are eating! Duh.......

5,  Never get your health news from the funny papers --- this is bogus! I have it on good authority that "doughnut withdrawal" can be quite painful.

After reading an article on taking chances in one's life, at the end of it was this marvelous and powerful poem. These encouraging words are by Guillaume Apollinaire (1880-1918). Such simple words, so deep a meaning. The writer and poet tells us to listen to our hearts, not that doubting voice in our heads! Go fly. Not a kite --- but yourself, Streamer!

My position as Queen of Freak Accidents* is secure!

The other day I leaned over to open the blinds overlooking the garden tub when------- oooops! ------- oh my gawd, I'm slipping! "I'm falling and I can't get up!" flashed through my mind! My hand slid one way and in I went face forward into the deep tub. Flailing like a gooney bird, I could not stop falling. I tried, but everything I grabbed onto only made it worse!

Lucky for me I recovered my balance without a total wipeout and no visible damage, only a sore knee. Cancel that call to 911, please!

Embarrassing accidents should be done in private and are best not shared with anyone, but, as long as I don't draw blood, I always find humor --- I didn't think I could still do that Yoga position anymore --- and a new reason to be humble!

There's nothing I can think of that I would be able to belt out in front of that critical threesome! I AM pretty good doing the theme from the original "Star Trek" though.......... oooooooooooooo00000, oooooooooooooooo000..... ooooooooooooo000000oooooooooooooo.....

Anyway, there are a couple of talented singers in this year's crop of wannabes on American Idol. LUCY has a post where you can vote on your favorites. I like to jump into the competition after a few knock-out rounds --- like when there's only six left. That's when it finally gets down to the best and when it becomes a true contest between singers.
