Momma Never Told Me

 Scattered Bee Bee Bits

~~~~~ Okay, some Streamers rightly guessed that it was our home where the meteorite crashed through the roof! Luckily, neither of us were on the toilet at the time. And I wouldn't call it luck from the heavens, but 50 Cents wants to buy the metal chunk for a necklace.
~~~~~ Did anyone notice that the National Guard got food to the stranded cattle in Colorado faster than they got food to the Katrina survivors? "Thank moooooooo!!!!" quoted from Daisy, the heifer.

~~~~~ The spring catalogs started coming the first mail day after Christmas! Many of the things I bought online are on sale now. My New Year's Resolution next year should be to procrastinate.
~~~~~ Why is it that "Breaking News" and "Emergency Warning Tests" never interrupt commercials?

~~~~~ ~~~~~ The creator of Scooby Doo died the other day. Iwao Takamoto designed many of the most famous animated features, but Scooby Doo was one of his most popular. When contacted for a statement, Mr. Doo said, "Whoooooo, abooba dooooba......... and then I couldn't understand anything after that, Streamers, he was soooooooo emotional.
Hope you're having a great weekend! ~~~ Hugs, Rita B
 It's What's Inside That Counts
See, boy and girls, it happens in the nut world too!
Size doesn't matter --- because when it's cracked open, it's still a NUT!
 *You Are Here*
For six years in a row, Norway is considered the best place to live in the world.
On our own side of the earth, North Carolina is the seventh fastest-growing state in the USA. Our top source of migration --- that's number one --- is from New York state. What? Welcome, New Yorkers!
Florida is second in moving to North Carolina, but that's no surprise because we've been known as the "half-back" state for years. People retire to Florida and find it too hot and too buggy so they move half-way back home!
North Carolina is moderate in climate with mountains in the west and the ocean in the east with some wonderful places in-between. Most of the other migrates are from close or bordering southern states --- Virginia, South Carolina, Georgia, California, and Texas. All except the not-so-surprising number six --- people immigrating from Mexico!
Welcome and howdy to one and all. And bienvenidos!!!
 Ruptured Duck Dance
Gloria Hallelujah!
After six months of continuing pain, it took a new doctor and an MRI to reveal what is wrong with my right foot.
Are you ready? Ta da --- I've got a ruptured plantar fascia!!! Yeah, I know --- I didn't know what it was either until this happened. Now, with knowing what the problem is and the right treatment, hopefully, I'll get better in time without surgery.
All I have to do is, for the next four weeks, wear a bulky, unattractive, inflatable boot cast for 23 hours a day. The hardest part is sleeping with this sexy black thing! ("That's the boot, not Rusty Dusty!" says the very light Rusty D.)
This month, I will celebrate by doing the slow dance of caution each day.  Healing takes patience!
 It's a Stretch, But I Can Do It!
George Clooney has been in our area scouting out places for his movie "Leathernecks." He and Renee Zellweger, along with many extras and locals, will star in this romantic comedy set in the 1920's. I swear our small town may be a bit behind the rest of the world, but not THAT much! Anyway, we've had about five movies made in the area where we've lived for the past twenty-five years. Our oldest daughter's made it into one of them.
As with before, the casting calls are in the newspapers and I thought I might try out this time. Anyway, that was before I found out that they're looking for young boys around age nine and into sports! I know it's a stretch, but I'm sure I can pull it off with the right makeup and tight undergarments. Hello? I even know some of the rules of football!
Cutie-pie Georgie says that the best advice he's gotten from his dad, is "Don't wake up at 70 years old signing over what you should've tried. Just do it! Be willing to fail, and at least you gave it a shot."
I'm taking that advice to heart and so I'm going for it!!! Luckily, I still have my soprano voice.
