This is a photologue from our Hilton Head Island trip:

This colorful plant was everywhere, but I have no idea what it is. If you know, please tell me!

We always have our first dinner at Jump & Phil's --- the palm tree out front looked dramatic at night.

The next morning, a shiny anhinga was drying its wings in the sun.

We visited Pinckney Island and found this Angel Oak. Angel Oaks are over 500 years old when their branches touch the ground and start growing again in the sandy soil.

Meet Don Quixote, the horse who pulled our carriage ride around the historic town of Beaufort, SC.

Beaufort has some lovely old homes like this one. Also, we saw the house used in the movies The Big Chill and The Great Santini, but it was hidden by trees.

Built in the 1750's, St. Helena Church's cemetery was an eerie place.

Biking is always fun at the beach and I only fell down once!

We saw lots of alligators and other animals on our Alligator Adventure Tour, but this is my favorite photo of one of the lagoons.

I found this weird upside-down tree on one of our beach walks.

Since my foot has kept me from playing golf, I still went along for the ride and the scenery.

During the whole week, we saw lots of lazy alligators soaking up the sun on the banks of the ponds.

On our last walk on the beach, an autumn beach bum was the only other person braving the wind and sand.

We love to visit Hudson's at Skull Creek whenever we leave the island. Moored in front was the Miss Pudgy --- which reminded me that dieting was going to follow this week of fantastic seafood!
Each year we visit Hilton Head Island we discover something new to enjoy and this year was no exception. This post is dedicated to our dear friends, Mike & Jan and Bill & Lynne --- and the memories we share from long ago on Hilton Head!
