Streamers, I admit I'm stumped! The local Hooters is having a "Hooteroke" night and I'm just not sure what to wear to the evening's festivities. Any suggestions on what's appropriate???

I knew what to wear to the Redneck Olimpics a few months back, but this new event has me puzzled.

This second Cartoon Quiz is much harder, boy and girls!

Not only will you garner my undying devotion if you get them all correct, but you will receive a Doctorate of Cartoon Recognition. Then you'll be able to impress your friends and family as a Dr. of Cartoon Characters (DOCC). Just think of all the doors that will open to you in the business world after today!

1. I love the beach. Nothing new there. But I even love it in the hot summertime and all the rest of the year too. Rain or blowing cold, it has such beauty to me that I think the best place in the world is walking in the sand at the edge of the ocean. Where's your dream spot?

2. I like to fish. Last few times I have caught nothing, but it's still fun to be fishing on a lake or way out in the middle of the ocean. I enjoy being on a fast moving boat too with the wind blowing against my skin! At least with fishing --- if you do get lucky --- there's food for the table! What a gift from God. I'm not a hunter, but to me fishing is different. Do you agree?

3. Ice cream is the best treat in the world. I even enjoy the vile sugar-free cardboard stuff! No matter what flavor --- as long as it's not the bizarre flavors like sardines --- I can eat it! One thing I don't like is how waxy those chocolate chips/chunks taste in freezing ice cream, but that doesn't slow me down much. Vanilla is said to be the overwhelming favorite --- so what's your chilly turn-on?

4. For years during the summer months I was a softball pitcher. I'm not sure how it started, but I know I was the pitcher for our ladies' team while I was in the Navy and then on some other teams for about 20 years. Was I any good? I have no idea --- maybe I was better than most or else no one else wanted the job! Did you ever find out that you were a natural at something without even trying?

5. Another great thing about the summertime, is all the street and outdoor festivals! Oh, how I love strolling down the street smelling the vat-fried greasy funnel cakes, sipping a cold beer, and listening to the garage band playing at the end of the avenue! Wow! Not to mention burning the top of your head! Can that be more American??? Whatever the occasion, it doesn't matter, get a bunch of sweaty people together with the idea of celebrating and it can be a memorable holiday. What say you, Streamers, do you get out there or avoid them like the plague?

There, Polar Bear, I'm back on track with my FFF's. ~~~ Streamers, have a great first weekend of the summertime!

Rushing to my volunteer job at the hospital this morning, a police car ended up behind me. Yeah, it always makes me nervous too, but I kept my cool, kept my eyes on the road and behaved myself.

While driving along, I noticed up ahead was a flock of birds in the middle of the road so I naturally slowed down enough for them to fly away. Well, I hit a couple of the birds and one flew up and over my car --- hitting the cop car right in the car's windshield!

The policeman turned on his flashing blue lights so fast that I jumped, then I pulled over to the side of the road, baffled.

That dirty copper gave me a TICKET!

Yeah, that's right! He gave me a ticket for flipping the bird!!!

Be a gardener.

Dig a ditch,

toil and sweat,

and turn the earth upside down

and seek the deepness

and water the plants in time.

Continue this labor

and make sweet floods to run

and noble and abundant fruits

to spring.

Take this food and drink

and carry it to God

as your true worship.
