A couple of Sundays ago, we had a young guest minister at church. He caught my attention right away when he started with how annoyed he became during a service when someone's cell phone started ringing! And no one answered it!! It rang and rang until the minister realized it was his own phone ringing. Tee hee.
What he told us during his sermon was a great reminder because it has to do with our lives today. With all the wonderful things like the internet and e-mail and all the handheld devices like IPod and ITunes, don't lose touch of those around you.
We've all seen it out at restaurants and such --- people on the phone talking to someone else and ignoring the people they're with. One group he saw once had a woman on the phone talking loudly about how a friend never calls her back and ignores her when all the while this woman was doing the same thing..... right then! I've seen couples each on the phone with someone else while they're together. How silly is that? Plenty of young people go around hooked into music or games and they wear a permanent spaced-out stare. It's a form of isolation when they should be growing through interacting with other people.

His point was not to forget to stay in touch with all those in your circle --- family and friends and all those people in between. Don't disconnect from them because of some gadget or communication device. Nothing beats the warm personal touch of a loved one as you look into their eyes and really talk to each other.
